Acerca de Nosotros

Hola Augusta Newspaper has been in print since June 2002 and the growth of the Hispanic community and our paper has been extraordinary.  The Central Savannah River Area has the largest concentration of Hispanics in Georgia outside of Atlanta, and outside of Columbia, South Carolina.  In fact the U.S. Census Bureau reports that 1 in every 7 persons in the United States is Hispanic. The following are facts from the US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce:

  • Hispanic advertising by U.S. companies grew 24 percent in 2003, compared with 8.6 percent for the general market.
  • Hispanics accounted for 40 percent of the country's population growth between 1990 and 2000.
  • The number of prosperous Hispanic households-those with incomes of at least $100,000- rose 137 percent between 1990 and 2000.
  • In 2002, the ten states with the largest Hispanic markets by spending power were: California, Texas, Florida, New York, Illinois, New Jersey, Colorado, GEORGIA, and New Mexico.
  • Current Hispanic purchasing power has surged to nearly $700 BILLION and is projected to reach as much as $1 TRILLION by 2007, nearly three times the national rate over the past decade.

To top it off, research has shown that Hispanics are loyal (and partial) to Companies that advertise in their language!
