Afterlife by: Claudia Gray

Putting down the fourth book in Claudia Gray's Evernight series, Afterlife, left me with a single word to utter at the end - wow. You see, I like the word wow simply because when said it may be insinuating that the book was truly wonderful or that it is so terrible that I could think of nothing else to say about it. In this case however, the series was extremely fascinating and Afterlife was a great end to Lucus and Bianca's love story. Still, the wow did not just come from the adamant display of care, love, and friendship that leaked out of the pages but also from the suspense and betrayal that assured plenty of action and liveliness throughout every moment. From the first page this novel engages you in the heart of the problem that was left over from the previous' book cliff hanger. This clearly stating that the word intense does not even fully begin to cover the story's brilliant developments. Bianca's life was turned around when she was forced to understand the world of the wraiths. While still fearing the unknown, she still had to help Lucus pull through from his newly undead status. The stakes are high with enemies appearing to be friends and loved one's suddenly becoming enemies. Evernight was a series that I honestly enjoyed living in, with an exciting group of characters that ultimately bonded for the perfect reasons. I highly recommend this series to anyone looking for an upbeat adventure with an enchanting love story to root for from the beginning!
