Aiken County Planning and Development Department has initiated efforts to study the US 1/ US 78 corridor between the Savannah River (GA/SC State line) and SC 118 (Hitchcock Parkway). Managing the projected growth along the existing US 1/US 78 four-lane facility requires an integrated approach that identifies land use, safety, traffic flow & capacity, aesthetics, and access management improvements and supports viable multimodal transportation options.
